A Roundup Of 2024’s Home Improvement Trends

2023 has been and gone and now it’s time to take on 2024, and we know that some of you will have drawn up new aims for the 12 months to come.

One of these objectives could be to renew the look of your home interior and a great resolution that is too as it will bring it back in vogue, add value, and likely reignite the love you have for it.

For a project of this type, some inspiration helps and Amber will see to that by giving you details of some of 2024’s forecasted home design trends.

Sweet Embrace™ – Dulux Colour of the Year

Barbie-mania swept the globe in 2023 after the release of the hit movie and we suspect that is why Dulux have gone with Sweet Embrace™ as their Colour of the Year.

Sweet Embrace™ is toned down in comparison to Barbie’s go-to pink shade, but is a blossom pink with visible undertones of blue and grey. They haven’t attributed their choice to the film’s success but instead claimed it’s to create positive and peaceful spaces inside homes.

A muted pink of this kind is soft enough to colour drench a room or keep it to a standalone shade on an accent wall, possibly in the bedroom. A separate option is to use pops of the pink in scatter cushions, rugs etc.

Retro Interiors

Step into the time machine and prepare to be transported back to the 1970’s – the return of 70’s interiors is nigh and it’s a movement brought on by people’s urge for slower-paced living.

You’re going to be seeing a renaissance of geometric patterns in carpets and wall coverings, natural wood dressing tables and bureaus, velvet fabrics, and vintage wall tiles, an escape from the very different world we live in today.

An upgrading of your windows with Amber’s cottage windows would be in harmony with the nostalgic theme as they are based on traditional timber designs from centuries ago.

Curvy Mirrors

Mirrors are one of the few home accessories that generally don’t date and a broadening of thinking will see curvy mirrors take off this year and adorn the walls in lots of lounges, bathrooms and hallways.

Curvy mirrors can really seize attention to a stronger degree than the archetypal square or rectangular mirror and will reflect light around internals in a similar manner to them.

You can buy mirrors in a wide choice of sizes, shapes and materials, and it’s up to you whether you have a single curved mirror as a centrepiece on a dominant wall or a host of small mirrors in a grouped display.
