How To Give Your Conservatory A Christmassy Feel
Christmas is closing in, fast! You only have two weeks left to finish off your Christmas shopping list and get your conservatory looking and feeling festive.
Our reason for mentioning the conservatory, rather than your traditional living area, is because we feel it’s the best place to spend the big day.
It can be the setting for the Christmas dinner, and the various party games that follow, so you should decorate the space for the occasion and make it Christmas-ready.
Don’t get in a terrible tizz if you haven’t yet given your extension a Christmassy touch. That can be changed quickly by using our favourite fuss-free festive ideas:
Place your Christmas cards on the various cills
You will hopefully have started to receive Christmas cards from friends and family. Instead of displaying them on top of the fireplace, put them on any available window cills within the conservatory.
If your Christmas card count is low so far, you could always find some Christmastime photos you’ve taken in the past on your mobile phone, print them off and frame them to show that you love having some festive fun.
Create the smell of Christmas
As well as looking and feeling Christmassy, your conservatory should smell Christmassy too.
The sort of smells we associate with Christmas would be gingerbread, cinnamon, fresh pine etc. and there are loads of candles and diffusers you can buy that offer those exact aromas.
From the moment your guests get a whiff of any of these scents, they will be full of the Christmas spirit.
Buy some new throws and cushions in Christmassy colours
All your guests will want to do after the turkey dinner is veg out on the sofa as they will be full to bursting.
Put out some throws and cushions on the furniture that they can cuddle under to keep warm and sit back on, while they observe you acting out in a game of charades, that have colours associated with Christmas, such as red and white.
If you’re not playing host until next Christmas, plan ahead and buy a brand new solid roof for your conservatory from Amber Home Improvements so that you know it will offer the cosiest of Christmases.
