As your family expands, your family home seems to shrink in size and it can get to a point where you simply have to do something about it.
You may float the idea of moving with your nearest and dearest, or look into extending your current house with an extension.
But if you’re not majorly keen on doing that, the other option is to see if you can make the family home roomy again, which, chances are, you can!
Declutter
Decluttering the house is good for the soul and you’d be amazed at how much space it can often free up, whether it’s on your floors or in your wardrobes and cupboards.
Try to be ruthless, getting rid of anything that you really don’t need, taking unwanted items to the local refuse centre, charity shop or putting them for sale online.
Make full use of your walls to store things as going vertical like this will give you more valuable inches of floor space.
Aluminium windows
Natural light is your friend if you want to get a roomier atmosphere and it helps if it can bounce off light-coloured walls and reflective surfaces (mirrors).
Removing your traditional bulky windows and replacing them with much slimmer aluminium window frames will also significantly boost light transference, as the sun will have a larger glazed area to pass through.
Aluminium window profiles are so trim, giving you so much glass and so much added light.
Large glazed door
Here’s hoping for some fantastic summer weather and if we get it, you want to be out in the garden as much as possible.
If you were to have a bi-folding door or some other type of sliding door integrated into the wall that meets your garden, you will be more inclined to get outdoors in the sunshine.
This sunshine will burst through the large glass panes and leave you with beautifully lit space, when they’re both open and closed.
Window and door installations are Amber’s bread-and-butter, so why don’t you put us in charge of fitting them and making your home the roomiest it’s felt in years. Get a quote here.
